Measuring ROI and iterating your comparison-page portfolio
Treat comparison pages as a program, not a one-off SEO project. Instrument them across acquisition, engagement, and revenue so you can make informed decisions about which pages to expand, consolidate, or retire. At a minimum, track these categories of metrics: SEO visibility: impressions, clicks, and ranking for “[your product] vs [competitor]” and “[competitor] alternatives” queries, segmented by region and device. On-page engagement: scroll depth, time on page, interactions with comparison tables and FAQs, and outbound clicks to documentation or pricing pages. Pipeline influence: number and value of opportunities where comparison pages appear in the journey, plus their role (first touch, mid touch, last touch).
