How the Technical Site Audit Works
Enter a starting URL and, if needed, additional sitemap URLs. The crawler discovers in-scope pages from HTML links and sitemaps, respects robots.txt, and treats the site’s www and apex hostnames as one site. It stops at the limit you choose, up to 5000 pages.
The audit is read-only and never changes your website. It attempts JavaScript rendering for every successfully fetched HTML page and records whether each capture completed.
A healthier foundation
Why Technical SEO Matters
Search engines need reliable responses, clear indexing signals, useful metadata, and paths between pages to discover and understand a site. Broken destinations interrupt visitors, while redirect errors and weak internal linking can make important pages harder to reach.
A technical audit turns those signals into a practical list of URLs to review, so fixes can be prioritized using evidence from the crawl.

What the Crawler Checks
Response health
Reviews HTTP status codes, failed requests, and redirect behavior.
Indexability
Checks robots directives and canonical signals that affect whether a page can be indexed.
Metadata and structure
Inspects titles, meta descriptions, and page headings from complete page observations.
Broken references
Finds broken destinations discovered in page links or sitemap entries.
Internal linking
Maps how audited pages connect to and reference one another.
Scope: Unrelated subdomains are excluded. Images, scripts, stylesheets, and iframes are not crawled as separate audit resources.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a crawl take?
Small audits may finish in minutes. Larger sites take longer depending on the page limit and how quickly the site responds.
Does the audit check subdomains?
The submitted site’s www and apex hostnames are treated as the same site. Other subdomains remain outside the audit scope.
Does the crawler render JavaScript?
It attempts to render each successfully fetched HTML page. Timeouts, blocked requests, and incomplete captures are reported as coverage limits. If required rendering is incomplete, internal linking is shown as not assessed and orphan findings are withheld.
Is the site audit free?
Yes. You can start and review a technical site audit for free.
Will the audit change my website?
No. The crawler is read-only and respects the site’s robots.txt rules.
