ELSS Funds: Equity-Linked Savings Scheme (ELSS) is a market-linked investment option that offers tax-saving benefits under Section 80C. By investing in ELSS, you can claim a deduction of up to ₹1.5 lakh in a financial year. The returns earned from ELSS are subject to Long-Term Capital Gains ( LTCG ) Tax, where gains above ₹1.25 lakh are taxed at 12.5% without indexation benefits. Since ELSS funds are equity-oriented, they have the potential to deliver higher returns compared to traditional tax-saving instruments like PPF or fixed deposits. However, they also carry market risks.
