What are the main differences between zero depreciation and RTI? What are the most common misconceptions about zero depreciation and RTI?
What Should You Know About Return to Invoice Cover?
RTI is very different from the zero depreciation add-on . This is because RTI covers the full value of a car in case of theft or total loss, whereas zero depreciation offers a full claim amount on damaged parts without depreciation deduction. The standard insurance will cover or compensate for the reduced value.
What is zero depreciation in car insurance?
Over time, your car depreciates. In other words, its value decreases every year. When you make an insurance claim, the depreciation is deducted. Hence, your car insurance claim is smaller in value.
1. New Car Owners:
Your car's value will depreciate over time. In the initial years, the car value will depreciate significantly. Depreciation is highest during the first few years. Along with the zero depreciation cover, also get the RTI cover. In the event of a total loss of your car, you will be fully compensated.
What is Return to Invoice (RTI) cover?
The return to invoice cover is a car insurance rider. Here, you are paid the vehicle’s original purchase price (including registration and road tax) in case of total loss or theft. The depreciation value is not considered, and you get the exact purchase value. This helps you to replace the vehicle and get a new one effortlessly.
What Should You Know About Return to Invoice Cover?
Return to invoice is an optional add-on cover for your standard car insurance. In case of complete damage due to accidents or theft, the cover should be of great help. It will also help if your car has been affected or damaged due to natural disasters. If your car is damaged for any of these reasons, you will receive the invoice value, not the market value.
